In partnership with our communities, we design and advance healthcare to support the wellness of the populations we serve. LHSC delivers both local and regional services, including the Southwest Centre for Prehospital Medicine (SWCPM). The SWCPM provides medical oversight comprised of delegation, education and quality assurance/continuous quality improvement to approximately 1700 Primary and Advanced Care Paramedics from 11 regional paramedic services and serves the large and diverse geographical region of Southwestern Ontario.

Job Summary:
Associate Instructors (AI) play an important role in the onboarding and testing of Paramedics as they enter the workforce.  They will participate in, and be exposed to, pre-hospital medical education not only from a front-line perspective but also from a provincial/systemic lens.  Duties may include:

  • Acting as a primary care paramedic partner during certification evaluations
  • Acting as a family/bystander/allied resource during certification events
  • Assisting to facilitate educational sessions
  • Potential for performance-based advancement within SWORBHP

 Hours of work: No guaranteed hours. Hours vary based on the needs of the program.

Job Classification: Contract Casual, non-union

Rate of Pay: $38.00 per hour

Location: SWORBHP Office, London, ON

 Qualifications: 

  • PCP or ACP in good standing with a base hospital program (or retired status)
  • RN, RPN, RT in good standing within their regulatory college
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and eagerness to learn
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and email
