Question:
Question: If the patient requires ventolin and has a fever but cannot tolerate the mdi, would it then be appropriate to use the nebulizer.
Answer:
 Great question and thanks for asking this. In the Clinical Considerations section of your Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards, it states that "Nebulization is contraindicated in patients with a known or suspected fever or in the setting of a declared febrile respiratory illness outbreak by the local medical officer of health."
So, with that said, unfortunately for your patient who cannot tolerate the MDI, we cannot move ahead to using the nebulizer for your own safety.
