Question:

Question: Why did we receive the latest OBHG recommendations today (Monday, Apr 6th) when they are dated April 3rd?

Answer:

The OBHG MAC finalized these recommendations on Friday, April 3rd, 2020 at approximately 15:00.  However, before they were to be implemented, SWORBHP requested that the Emergency Health Regulatory and Accountability Branch (EHRAB) of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care provide written approval prior to their release.  This approval was granted Monday April 6th, 2020 and therefore the OBHG Memo for Considerations for Paramedics Managing Patients during the COVID-19 Pandemic was released by SWORBHP once this written approval was received.  There are no differences between the memo that was circulated on April 3rd by some Regional Base Hospitals and the memo that was circulated by SWORBHP on April 6th, other than the date.
