Question:

Is ASA considered a blood thinner? I understand its an anti-platelet and not an anticoagulant but is it still considered a blood thinner?

Answer:

ASA is an antiplatelet drug. It is not an anticoagulant and therefore not a contraindication to patient on anticoagulation therapy for the Analgesia Medical Directive. Please see 27-April-2021 Ask MAC where a similar question was asked.
