Question:
Hi,Â
For in-line suctioning pressures via the ETT and tracheostomy tube/gastric port suctioning via the i-gel, the suctioning pressures are clearly stated in the ALS PCS but for direct oropharyngeal suctioning with the wide bore suction tube and yankauer, I have not seen any table.Â
Â
Most sources online say it should be less than 200mmHg for oropharyngeal suctioning via the yankauer for an adult but in my paramedic services we do 500-550mmHg for adults.Â
Â
Where can I get a reference for all ages that supports this?Â
Â
Thank you.Â
