Question:
If the patient has a mint allergy, is Ondansetron contraindicated? On the package for Ondansetron package it says it contains mint.Â
Answer:
The medicinal agent, ondansetron, is not contraindicated. There may be some formulations of the ODT that have flavour in them (ie. peppermint flavour) for the MINT-ONDANSETRON brand. If this is the formulation you carry and the patient tells you they are allergic or sensitive to mint, it would be reasonable to not administer this medication.
