Alternative experiences that are taken without preapproval may not be approved if they are deemed to not meet the objective of replacing a patient care experience at the certification level of the Paramedic. There is also a maximum on the number of patient contacts a Paramedic can receive per category/event. The maximum values are ms are outlined in Appendix 1 of the Maintenance of Certification policy. If the submission is denied, the Paramedic will receive an email from the PPO indicating that it was not approved and the reason why.
