Question:

Can you do chest thrusts on someone who is unresponsive with a DNR?

Answer:

Please see the Ask MAC from 19-Jan-2012

If you believe that the patient is suffering from a foreign body airway obstruction, you may assist the patient who is suspected of choking. However, once the patient has suffered a cardiac arrest and the patient has a valid DNR, then the DNR is to be followed.
