Question:
Question: I was just wondering in case Im asked by the Police Department... in a medical TOR, what physician signs the death certificate?
Answer:
 Either the patient's family doctor if able to be located and attends the scene, or the coroner signs the death certificate. The ED MD may also rarely sign the death certificate if a TOR is issued in a moving ambulance en route to a hospital.
