Question:

Is there a benefit to administering subsequent doses of nitroglycerin for ischemic chest pain if the patient does not get relief from the first dose?

Answer:

You may continue to utilize the Cardiac Medical Directive, giving multiple doses of nitroglycerine (as long as they continue to meet the required Conditions/none of the Contraindications), even if they have no relief after the first dose. However, should you  discontinue further treatment, please document your rationale. For example the patient had no relief of chest pain and developed a headache after the first dose.
