Upon arrival, you encounter a situation where a baby requires neonatal resuscitation, while the mother remains in a stable condition. Is it advisable to consider leaving the mother on site and transporting the newborn?

This is a challenging situation. We would advise you to refer to your Service Policies and inquire with your Duty Supervisor if you feel that both patients need to be transported to hospital, if there is a Service policy limiting the number of patients that you can transport.
