Prehospital Care Specialist

The Pre-Hospital Care Specialist (PHCS), in conjunction with the Base Hospital leaders and Medical Directors develops, facilitates and delivers educational opportunities for paramedics in the region. This would include the certification of new paramedics and continuing medical education for a broad range of practice competencies and medical directives.  Using a just culture approach, looking at a standardized process with established benchmarks and analysis of paramedic patient care activities; the PHCS assures patient safety by evaluating performance and monitoring adherence to provincial standards.

Bio: Stephanie has been with SWORBHP as an Associate Instructor since 2019, but recently transitioned to the role of a temporary part-time Prehospital Care Specialist in October 2021 and to a permanent casual Prehospital Care Specialist in 2023. Stephanie graduated from Fanshawe College’s Paramedic Program in 2001. Stephanie has been working as a PCP-IV in Elgin County for the last 18 years.
